The  NRCF’s 2022 Community Grants Round is accepting applications until August 31.

The 2022 Community Grants Round will provide the recovery and long-term support the community needs following significant flooding in the region.

Those community organisations struggling to muster the energy after a gruelling flood recovery effort are invited seek NRCF guidance or support with their application.

NRCF Grants and Community Impact Manager Kyla White and Grants Administration Officer Jen Smith will be on hand to offer guidance with applications.
The NRCF has adapted its Community Grants Round to this year distribute grants up to $50,000, the largest in the NRCF’s Community Grants’ history, to help meet the magnitude of support required by community organisations on the ground across the Northern Rivers. This year also marks the largest funding pool to date for the Community Grants Round.

Recently appointed NRCF CEO Sam Henderson said the Foundation’s larger-than-ever grants round was in direct response to the volume of need following the flood events of February and March 2022.

“What our communities across all seven Local Government Areas of the Northern Rivers went through was significant,” Mr Henderson said.

“We understand that flood recovery and building resilience and vitality in our communities is a process that requires short, medium and longer-term action, and this Community Grants Round reflects that,” he said.

“We encourage all community organisations to head to our website and download the guidelines and view our application form, or reach out to our Grants Team if you have any questions at all. We know this is a long road, and we are here to support you in every way we can.”

This year’s Community Grants Round will offer the following streams of funding:

  1. Small Grants of up to $10,000 funding four priority areas of Recovery & Resilience; Disadvantage; Environment; Housing & Homelessness.
  2. Recovery and Resilience Capacity Building Grants of up to $25,000 to support disaster recovery initiatives, resilience and disaster mitigation projects.
  3. Flood Relief Fund Capacity Building Grants of up to $50,000 to support Feb/ March 2022 flood recovery initiatives, resilience and disaster mitigation projects.

Applications will be open for the whole month of August, with the final submission day August 31.
