No worker wants to be faced with the decision to resuscitate or not. However, this is can be an issue for aged sector workers, even though Do Not Resuscitate orders (DNR) are legally binding. A worker is obliged to resuscitate if the order cannot be found. This is a distressing situation for the older person, their family as well as the worker when the written wishes of the older person cannot be found. It is important for the older person to make your wishes known to the appropriate people including staff. It is also essential to make sure those wishes are documented.
