CASPA Services has two free upcoming parenting programs that are being held in the Casino and Evans Head areas.


Monday 7th, 14th & 21st March, Evans Head Scout Hall, 22Mangrove Street, 9.30am – 12.30pm
Engaging adolescents is a three-sessionparenting course designed to provide parentsand carers with skills so that they are able togain a deeper understanding of our teens andstrategies to help resolve problems. The course explores the emotionaldevelopment of teens and providesapproaches to help support communicationwith your teen. We will look at how to havethose ‘tough conversations’ while deepeningand strengthening your relationship.
This course is FREE with morning tea provided.

The First 1000 days

Tuesday, February 22 and Tuesday March 1, Community and Cultural Centre, 138 Canterbury Street, Casino, 9:30am – 1:00pm

As a nurturing, empowering and kind program, Bringing UpGreat Kids in the First 1000 days is also a mindful,reflective and respectful program. This Program provides an opportunity for expectant andnew parents to begin their parenting journey. The program will explore

  • How the foetus grows including brain development
  • How adults can support the pregnant parent and growing foetus
  • Brain development in children and its influence on their thoughts and feelings
  • The child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
  • What the young child and family need to ensure the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes
  • Ways for parents to take care of themselves and find support when needed
  • Important messages parents want to convey to their children
