Children’s Week will be celebrated this year from 19-27 October 2019. To honor this special time of year, the Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) is inviting submissions for the Children’s Week Creative Story Competition.

Children and young people up to age 18 who live in NSW are invited to enter the contest by submitting a 200-500 word creative story about an issue that is important to children and young people in 2019.

The winning stories will be decided by famous author and Children’s Laureate Morris Gleitzman, the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People, the Youth Advisory Council and the NSW Children’s Week Committee.

One winner will be chosen in each of the following age groups: 0-5, 6-11, and 12-18. The three winners will receive an award and a $200 gift card at a special Children’s Week event.

The Competition intends to promote the importance of writing and the imagination.

Entries close Sunday 6 October 2019. For more information, visit the ACYP website here.
