There will be a two-day Trauma Focused Adventure Therapy training at Griffith University on 24 and 25 October 2019. This instruction is designed for therapist, youth workers, behaviour support teachers, youth support coordinators, chaplains and others who work with young people.

The training is two full days and costs $295 per person plus GST. The fee includes a comprehensive pdf e-book. Participants are responsible for accommodation and meals are bring your own.

Adventure as therapy is engaging, targeted and is found to be a highly effective therapeutic process. It works by targeting the parts of the brain that help regulate the physical body as well as the emotions.

Participants get to experience others as helpers, problem solvers and companions. Activity is presented at a rate that is not overwhelming. It helps to build confidence and is an active form of therapy that can helps connect with the natural environment.
