Staying connected during times of change and transition
Young people faced lots of post-isolation challenges this month as they transitioned back to school. While we are still in the beginning stages of getting back to in-person meetings, we wanted all of them to know we are still there for them! 🌻📖 With awesome donations of books, art supplies and gardening kits from the Book Warehouse in Lismore and Bunnings in Lismore/Byron Bay, our team carefully selected, prepped and delivered ‘porch packages’ for our young people across the Northern Rivers region. Text messages from our young people: ‘Wow, this is amazing’…’Exactly what I need to see, thank you!’🤗
Sharing the stories of inspirational young people
Our Story Telling workshop has been confirmed for July! 15 powerful and brave young people will be spending three days and two nights exploring everything that’s unique and special about their story, guided by our Ambassador Mandy Nolan and Dr George Catsi. They are pretty excited to be getting back together with old friends and meeting new ones, to sharing campfire yarns and spending time in nature. In the lead up to the event our Elev8 Lead Jen has continued her interviews with our Elev8 program participants, and we’re excited to share the latest one with you.
Meet Lulani – an inspirational Social Worker in the making
In 2018, Lulani took a chance and joined our Recre8 program. She was ready to make positive changes in her life, but it was still a pretty big leap into the unknown. To hear more about her incredible healing journey and how it inspired what she’s up to now at Uni, have a listen to her recent interview with Jen. So powerful! 🤩
