The EveryAGE Counts team has announced details of the first Ageism Awareness Day and you can be involved. We received great ideas to help guide the day and were blown away by the thought and creativity that people shared.

Ageism Awareness Day will be held on October 1. The theme is “Ageism – Know it. Name it.” You are invited to participate.

A key part of Ageism Awareness Day will be our supporters organising a morning tea to encourage friends, families, co-workers and curious strangers to have a discussion about ageism, its impacts and what we can do to end it in Australia.

Given the times, we are preparing a guide to help make organising the morning tea, either in person or online, simple and easy. Whilst ageism can be a serious topic, we’re preparing materials to help keep these discussions fun and engaging.

We’re pulling together a number of resources that are visual, audible, very tasty and thought provoking, and I’m very sorry that I can’t give you any more details yet but I can tell you again that we are very excited.

Yours in building an Australia without ageism,
