Now, more than ever, all members of our community require a safe refuge to keep themselves and their communities healthy.
All Social Futures essential services remain open to help the community. Our staff are working flexibly to continue to meet their needs while ensuring we keep our community safe. We remain committed to working with young people, adults and families who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness through our Connecting Home program.
Now more than ever our vulnerable young people will need their families and or a safe home. Connecting You (Homeless Youth Assistance Program – HYAP) will continue to support young people (aged 12-15) from Tweed Heads to Grafton who are having problems at home, or who are at risk of becoming homeless, to get connected with family, friends, work, school, and the community. Our Referrals to Connecting You come from the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).
To help minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19 we will primarily provide support over the phone with face to face appointments in exceptional circumstances only. If required to meet in person, we will practice physical distancing of at least 2 metres and will keep the meeting under 15 minutes.
If someone you know is experiencing or is at risk of homelessness, please call Connecting Home on 1800 048 310 (Monday-Friday 9am-4.30pm).
Please note, many more people than usual are accessing our services at this time. If we can’t answer your call straight away, please leave a message with your number so we can return it as soon as possible.
If emergency help is needed, Link2Home is available 24 hours a day on 1800 152 152.
