The COVID-19 pandemic is having a significant impact on businesses and employment across the country and impacting the wellbeing of our communities.

All Social Futures essential services including our Opportunity Pathways program remain open. Our incredible staff are working flexibly to continue to meet our participants needs while ensuring we keep our community safe.

Opportunity Pathways supports people to access education, training and work opportunities with a view to reaching their employment and housing goals. The program is open to people 17 years or older who live in social housing, receive the Rent Choice Subsidy, or who are on the NSW Housing Register.

With the significant impacts on the economy, employment and housing support is more vital than ever. Our Opportunity Pathways program is moving to over the phone and online services. We will continue to take new referrals and support for our existing participants to meet their goals.

While many industries such as hospitality have been hit particularly hard by this crisis, there may be new opportunities in other areas of the economy. We are working with our partners to identify these new opportunities and build connections with employers to help our participants find work when it is available.
