Clarence Valley Council has engaged Locale Consulting to prepare two new land use planning documents – a Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) and a Community Participation Plan (CPP). Both these documents are required under State Government planning changes.
The CPP describes how Council will engage with its communities regarding strategic planning and development assessment. It stipulates timeframes and circumstances when this will occur and is required to meet minimum levels.
The LSPS is a new document that will guide the future of land use planning in the Clarence Valley, developing a vision for the next 20 years. Drafting the LSPS is an opportunity for everyone who lives and works in the Clarence Valley to play their part in setting a pathway for land use over that timeframe.
As someone invested in the future of the Clarence Valley from either a personal or professional perspective, we are inviting you to help us plan for the future of the area. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
We would like to hear your thoughts and comments on the preliminary research that we have undertaken and to provide your input into the vision, priorities and themes for the LSPS.
To do this we are conducting a workshop to be held on Tuesday 10 September 2019 from 5:30 pm to 7:30pm at Vines at 139, 139 Fitzroy St, Grafton.
Registrations close on the 5th September 2019 and we ask that you RSVP by this date.
If you are unable to attend the workshop, we will also be available at a drop-in session at Maclean Council Chambers located at 50 River St, Maclean NSW also on Tuesday 10 September 2019 from 10 am to 2pm.
You can also contact Terry Dwyer at Clarence Valley Council if you would like to further discuss the projects on ph: (02) 6643 0243.
