We have several opportunities in the Tweed and Gold Coast area’s for Entry level or Experienced Disability Support Workers so come join our team.
3 x Disability Support worker /Social support.
RAILS ( Real Australian Indigenous Learning support) is a culturally diverse and all-inclusive Disability and Mental Health Service provider working in close collaboration with the NDIS participants in the Northern Rivers areas of NSW and the Gold Coast, to create a safe, empowering and mutually respectful environment.
About the Position
Our Disability Support Workers are responsible for supporting people in their day-to-day living, ensuring they have maximum opportunity to develop valued lifestyles with choice, control, self-advocacy and becoming a valued member of the community.
You will be providing direct support across a range of participant needs including, domestic and personal care assistance as well as assisting our participants to access and have a positive connection to the community.
This position is open to applicants who are new to the industry or have experience across a range of support services including challenging behaviours and or high physical needs.
We have multiple Casual positions available to commence as soon as practicable.
Desirable Criteria
• Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent or commitment to undertaking these courses.
• Demonstrated understanding in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.
Requirements
• Ability and willingness to work shift work, weekends and public/school holidays including broken shift with significant availability.
• Resilience, confidence and the ability to work independently and as a team
• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
• First Aid certificate or the willingness to get one within the on boarding stage
• Has completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
• Received two doses of the Covid vaccination or hold medical exemption
• Manual handling experience of a hoist and commode.
• Smart Phone
• Current Australian Driver’s License
• National police check
• Working with Children check NSW/QLD
