Healthy North Coast is seeking proposals from organisations to deliver community wellbeing and resilience initiatives across Birpai, Dunghutti, Gumbayngirr, Yaegl, Bundjalung, Arakwal and Githabul nations.

The following types of activities are eligible for funding:

  • Social and community connection initiatives. Examples include but are not limited to neighbourhood networks, peer support or visitor programs
  • Preparedness and response capability initiatives. Examples include but are not limited to recovery planning, building local leadership or skills development.
  • Partnerships and coordination initiatives. Examples include programs that build coordination or linkages between individuals, organisations or groups to enhance preparedness, response and resilience.
  • Environmental connection initiatives. Examples include but are not limited to environmental renewal programs, preparedness and sustainability education.
  • Cultural initiatives. These must be initiatives delivered by Aboriginal people for the Aboriginal community.

Aboriginal communities were disproportionately impacted by fires in our region. In order to address the needs of Aboriginal communities, targeted funding of $550,000 will be allocated specifically for initiatives that are delivered by Aboriginal people for the Aboriginal community. Aboriginal Community Initiatives must align with the program scope and principles.
